FUN TIMES

So life has been crazy busy for me lately, but loaded with fun and good times.

*We found a scandalous little dessert restaurant called Better Than Sex Dessert with all sorts of provocative dessert names and descriptions but they were DELICIOUS. We finally decided on Jungle Fever and The Cookie Nookie haha but we have to go back soon to try the rest.

*There was this crazy creepy fog on Friday the 13th that covered the island of Key West...it was scary reminded me of that movie

*Jake's suprise visit to Key West (at least a suprise for Ali since all of us were in on it and I was the main operator of the suprise) michelle was my date haha

*Valentines Day: Went to the movie "He's Just Not That Into You" love love loved it. Perfect choice of a movie on that night. Oh and I bought fun dip valentines for everyone and even gave them to the shuttle driver he was thrilled haha plus Robyns mom sent us all sugar cookies and ring pops and then we shared Michelle's love chocolates from her boy back home :)

*Went to Fort Zachary Beach with my girls and Jake

*Family Home Evening=SMORES-"somemore what?" funny story our friend Lou didnt know what Smores were so he kept saying somemore of what till we explained to him what it was. Obviously he's not from Utah.

*Beach Volleyball-My new favorite hobby at the moment...whenever we get off work at 3 or have the day off we hit the beach and play volleyball with our friends from the ward and the coast guard I feel like I am improving but I still have a far way to go*Tyler: Ali's bro came to visit us for a quick trip of only 2 days but it was fun
*We think that our apartment has fleas in the beds cause we all get these nasty bites at night that look like mosquito bites but they arent but no worries we got flea spray and took care of business tonight-i blame the last interns!
*Went to Benihana's for our friend Jerimiah's B-day. It was amazing and so fun one of the funner nights here I would say

*got sweet new headbands with flowers on them so i look more like a hippie :)

*go to the key west branch for church look how cute it is

Just some things we do when we get bored at work

We like to have modeling shoots when we are slow sometimes in the store so here are examples from me and Al on how the Del Sol products work:

This is how the shirt look inside or at night time

Go outside into the sun (we are using the lamps at our sun station demonstration table they are UV ray lights so its the same thing as going outside into the sun)

and you have COLOR INSTANTLY!!! crazy we know but legit...they are lifetime guarantee to change and you can wash them and dry them just dont use bleach feel free to look around and try things out for yourself haha Now for my photo documented presentation:

This is the Del Sol flyer *frisbee in otherwords-as you can see clear right?...watch this! ONE...

TWO...

THREE...

WOW! It changes to blue in the sunlight

This is me being chomped up by the del sol shark I am crying it was a terrifying experience

Always a good reaction when we pretend to be mannequins in the window all decked out in the Del Sol gear. People get really creeped out when we move unexpectedly haha

And finally when its real slow we make up dances and blast the music in the store and than record them on the camera...sorry i dont think the audio is very clear on this so it will look like we are dancing to silence but its actually a beyonce song called Radio I'm still trying to figure out how to record the sound over the video again but this will do for now enjoy

oh yeah and the first 30 seconds of this is like freestyling so its not the choreographed part we are just doing our own thing haha its not till the end we are in sync

My Friends

So now that you got the shpill of what my internship and what I do at work I can tell you about more exciting things...like my roommates and managers!!! k so most of you know that I decided with my best friend Ali to come down originally and do this internship. So I will spotlight her first

Ali:

Most awesomest girl you'll eva know and the bestest shared room buddy ever! We been friends since 8th grade so we are pretty tight and its been so fun to live with her and have someone from home here to help keep me from being too home sick. We share each others clothes so my wardrobe selection has doubled which is always a nice thing especially with Ali's style she is trendy and all that jazz I learn a lot from her. I am just stoked I got to do this internship with her I couldn't have asked for anyone else.

My other two roommates were total strangers at first. We first met during training week and that was only a week before we were all moving to Key West craziness huh. They didn't know each other either so it was probably a little bit more dramatic for them to move in with all strangers than me at least I had Al. So apparently at first they thought I hated them, I'm not sure why people think that about me I guess I am just shy and it comes across the wrong way, but now we are all the bestest of friends as if we had been for years it's so so so wierd. People ask us all the time if we were friends back in Utah because we seem like we are such good friends. I love them honestly it was a blessing to have them as my roommates we have such a good time. As you can see us eating dinner up above at the apartment is even a fun time haha

Robyn:

My twinner. We have the same sarcasm so we sometimes act like beotchs to each other but it really is all in good fun. Side fact her nickname for me is Beotch. She makes me laugh lots...she is BOMB. I like to play the song Rockin' Robin just for her and dance around haha She went to SUU and is still a freshmen she is the youngen of the group but she is considering, almost positive, that she is going to UVU next year and we want to find a house where we can all live together in the Fall. I am stoked and think it would be so much fun! She's super cool though I am glad to live with her.

Michelle:
Oh my Me-chelley. There is no way I can give you an accurate description of how awesome she is. She is a freaking model...basically tall blonde and beautiful. She's from West Jordan a fellow Westsider :) and she calls me B-Money-sort of cleaning up Robyns nickname for me! She is too funny and the biggest sweetheart ever. We have a quote book of all the silly things she tends to say when she doesn't really think before she speaks haha. She is a hardcore fan of Jazz and all sports pretty much. I am glad she was sent to Key West too its a perfect combination and she completes the puzzle :)

Thats a brief description of my roomies I hope you can see how cool they are and look forward to hearing more about them and the adventures we create here in Key West and we already have had so many.

Adam and Bonnie:

Now onto my Managers I have included them under my friends post because they are the coolest people I know and our more like our friends than our bosses like I previously stated but I absolutely love them! They are so funny and easy to hangout with. They are extremely active like they love running and biking they do Iron Mans and Triatholons all the time. They are excellent chefs they make us dinner sometimes and we make them dinner but their food is so delicious I always look forward to the next meal they will be cooking up. We love watching the same shows especially off of DDR when we are all off work and have Sherbet Sundays yum! They are newlyweds but have been dating on and off for like 8 years so they don't really act like it haha. Bonnie has the best dance moves you will ever see and she isn't shy about showing them off so I'll have to record a video for ya and post it on here so you can see how funny and awesome she is. Adam is another hardcore Jazz fan and him and Michelle talk about them religiously and interned with Del Sol twiced before in Hawaii and St. Thomas so he knows his stuff, but he is just as cool as Bonnie and with the whole gang it is always one big awesome party!

Del Sol Me Baby!!!

So more about the company that I am doing the internship for and what my job duties include. Del Sol was started in 1994 in a kiosk in the Fashion Place Mall in Utah...which is crazy cause now we don't even have a store in Utah just the corporate headquarters but there are 110 stores worldwide mostly in the carribean and tourist locations, a little confusing for many tourists and customers to understand when they find out all of us working in the store are all from Utah haha. The concept was taken from NASA technology when the shields on the astronauts helmets would change color when the UV rays from the sun hit it in order to block out the glare. Del Sol used this idea and incorporated it into clothing starting with the famous the color changing T-shirts. Now we have color changing sunglasses, board shirts, sunglasses, hats, flip flops, necklaces, bracelets, rings, keychains, nail polish, hats, visors, stuffed animals, frisbees, yo-yos, watches, and all shirts are adult children toddler and infant styles and sizes. It's a really legit business and it's continuing to grow about two stores every month, which is big with the economy the way it is right now. So when I'm not relaxing and bathing in the sun I am at the store "wowing" people with the coolest products ever made. There are sun stations (filtered UV ray lights) all around the store and so I am able to show people demos of how the product changes in the sun inside the store and than they can do it for themselves. I also help manage inventory-restocking, reordering, checking, counts, etc. I do cashiering and opening/closing of the store. I'm gaining a lot of skills and knowledge about running a store and the managers work really close with us so it is gonna be helpful for my school and future career which rocks. We work about 30-35 hours a week and its usually in the shifts of 9-3 or 3-9 perfect to go to the beach either before or after and we get 2 days off in the week to do whatever we want. But the time is flying by here so fast its crazy to think we have already been here for a month and are going home back in May. Our manager Adam says he's going to try and talk all of us into extending our internships through summer cause we are just that good haha but really it is tempting...I'll have to think about it and get back to yall. :) Speaking of our managers, which sounds so formal cause they are too cool and fun to be thought of as bosses but they still are great at their job, they are a newlyweds and are so awesome. They are like our older bro and sis so we have a good time with them we hang out with them all the time after work and its a great fun, couldn't have asked for anyone better! This is there first time managing a store and they came down only a week and half before we did, but Adam has served 2 internships for Del Sol already and you never would guess that Bonnie has never been through training or an internship because she is so amazing at the job. I'll talk about them more in detail when I do the introductions to the Del Sol/ Key West crew :) Thats the Del Sol company and Key West store in a nutshell though, hopefully its understandable and not too complicated

The Sweet Setup

I first arrived to Key West after leaving Salt Lake City that was a whooping 30 degrees and arrived in the island's sunny 75 degrees 13 long hours later. Palm trees, blue skys, and an endless ocean is now the scenery I am exposed to daily. How in the world did I get so lucky to escape Utah for a freezing winter and end up staying in a beautiful island? Well simply put I'm serving an internship. It's with a company called Del Sol, a retail business that sells color changing products in mainly tourist locations. It's awesome! They paid for the flight down here, the apartment, the transportation, peridium, and even add in bonuses when we do a good job. It's like the ultimate dream internship and it's going to look great for my major: Business/Accounting. It seems too good to be true but it really is legit and now I am here and loving life!...So I basically created this blog for the very reason of keeping all my loved ones and friends up to date on my life while I am away from them all so that they can know what I am up to and basically fill in the gap of being so far away from home. I'm gonna miss Utah but I know I am going to live it up here in the Keys and make the most of my time to take back with me many memories and experiences only attainable by imbracing life and living it to it's fullest.
